School Uniform

Our school uniform consists of a bottle green sweatshirt or cardigan, white or bottle green polo shirt and grey skirt, pinafore, trousers or shorts. Girls may prefer to wear green/white summer dresses in the warmer weather.  The wearing of school uniform is not compulsory however, at present, all of our children from Reception to Year 6 do choose to wear it.  Nursery-aged children may choose to wear full uniform, part uniform or non-uniform.

Additionally, all children will require -

 A bag for carrying books to and from school

 A PE kit bag

 White T-shirt, black shorts and/or track suit bottoms and plimsolls or trainers for PE

 Painting apron/overshirt

Each pupil has a hook provided in the cloakroom area and this should be used to accommodate their PE bag and coat. Their PE bag should be kept on their peg from Monday to Friday, and should contain the painting overall as well as the PE equipment.

The wearing of jewellery is not permitted in school with the exception of watches and stud earrings.  These items MUST be removed for PE and games lessons. Stud earrings in newly pierced ears must be taped.  Children must provide their own tape for this purpose.  It is our general practice to ensure that pupils do not take part in PE in their school uniform.

Key Stage 2 girls and boys will also require warmer outdoor sports clothing for the winter months. Generally, tracksuit trousers, a T-shirt and a tracksuit top or sweatshirt will be sufficient.  Trainers are sufficient for lessons involving ball skills on the hard courts and sports played on the field during the summer months.  Whilst not compulsory, some children choose to bring studded boots for football and tag rugby which are played on the field during the winter months.  Please note that ‘blade’ style studs on football boots are not permitted.

Additionally, Years 3 to 6 take part in swimming lessons at Penrith Leisure Centre in the Summer term, and need appropriate swimwear.

Please ensure that all clothing, footwear and swimwear is marked or labelled with your child’s name.

It is not compulsory that items of clothing display the school logo.  A wide variety of plain uniform items such as polo shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans and dresses are widely available from major supermarkets and other outlets.

A wide variety of good quality second-hand uniform items are also available from the school office for a voluntary donation of £2 per item.  This is a very popular and well-received service that many parents avail themselves of.
