Meet the governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

The governing body strives to provide effective governance for the school through:

Strategic leadership that sets and champions vision, ethos and strategy.

Accountability that drives up educational standards and financial performance.

People with the right skills, experience, qualities and capacity.

Structures that reinforce clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Evaluation to monitor and improve the quality and impact of governance.

At Skelton School we achieve this through termly meetings of the full Governing Body and its three sub-committees which deal in detail with the main aspects of the governing body’s work.  From time to time, working groups with a specific focus are established, such as understanding data, or other school development priorities.
