Gallery - November 2020

This afternoon in RE, we have been continuing our studies of Festivals of Light in the Year 3/4 class. We enjoyed making our christingles which represent the life of Jesus.

Last week, the Year 6 children took part in their Level 2 Bikeability training. All did very well and were very proud to receive their badges and certificates at our Stars Assembly on Friday. Congratulations to our Year 6 children and thank you to the Eden Valley Sports Partnership for arranging it for us!

Continuing our Transport topic in the Nursery and Reception class, we had a visit this morning from Tony of Newton Trailer Centre who brought his big red tractor to show us. We asked him lots of questions and loved learning all about tractors. We even got to sit in it which was brilliant fun. Thank you Tony!

In Science this week in Year 3/4, we have been learning all about the human body. We can now identify the major bones of the body and used this knowledge to put together these skeletons.

Today, all the children and staff at Skelton School held a two-minute silence to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict. The Year 3 and 4 children have created a beautiful display in their classroom with poppies that they have made and thank you letters to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We love welcoming the sport coaches from the Eden Valley Sports Partnership to our school, especially at the current time when outdoor activity is so important. This term, we have been learning orienteering skills - here we are using our maps to create funny faces.

We are having a great time tonight at After School Club creating our Bonfire paintings - we hope you like them!

Today we have started our DT project in the Year 5/6 class. We have already planned and prepared our designs but today we have started constructing our models of European buildings, landmarks and structures - we wonder if you can tell what they are yet??
