The Nursery and Reception children at Skelton School have recently taken part in 'Get Cumbria Buzzing's Big Plant' initiative. This has seen community groups from all over the county planting over 15,000 pollinators across the region in one week. The children were provided with wildflower plug plants by the Cumbria Wildflower Trust and, with the help of local resident, Bob Provoncha, they have helped to transform a grassed area adjacent to the bus shelter in the village. They very much hope that local residents and visitors to the village get many years of pleasure from it.

We are very proud to announce that our Skelton Crafty Kids marmalade won a silver medal at the World's Original Marmalade Awards at Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens this weekend. Well done to all of our budding marmalade makers ❤️

It may have been National Curriculum test week last week but we also had lots of fun and chill-out time every afternoon. It is a Skelton tradition that all of the KS2 children take part in sports competitions for their house team every afternoon during test week and compete for the trophies. The weather was kind to us so we managed to successfully award trophies for football, rugby, cricket, netball, cross country and rounders. Cross country was extra special this year as our Reception and KS1 children also took part, with every single one scoring points for their team. Trophies were presented to the Year 6 children at assembly on Friday. Well done and congratulations to all the children 🎊🥇

We are having a fantastic morning at the Eden Tennis Tournament - we have all played really, we have won of our matches and our two teams have finished joint FIRST!! We are super proud of ourselves 🥇🎊😊
