This afternoon, our Year 5/6 children have taken part in a live link up with the Maritime Museum in Liverpool to take part in a Titanic workshop. The class has been learning all about life in the 20th Century and, in particular, have been studying Liverpool.
We are so thrilled that so many of our children are enjoying our sport-themed After School Club sessions this term. Tonight it is Unihoc with the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, and they are having a great time!!
We were SO excited this morning to find out the results of the Cumbria Key Steps Gymnastics competition. Our wonderful Year 2 Gymnastics team came 1st in the Eden area competition so went on to represent Eden in the County Final. In the County Final, the team achieved 3rd place. We can't wait for our medals and badges to arrive later this term! Well done to our fantastic gymnastics team - you have all worked so hard for this and are absolutely amazing - we are so proud of you!!
We love welcoming the sports coaches from the Eden Valley Sports Partnership in to Skelton - this half term, the Year 5/6 class are working on their golf skills! Eden Valley Sports Partnership
One of our favourite sports at Skelton is dodgeball - it was great to see so many children enjoying Dodgeball Club tonight!
This afternoon the Year 3 & 4 children have been looking at electricity as part of their Science work. They have made complete circuits safely using lamps and buzzers. They also looked at the importance of electrical safety and made some posters to share some facts and information.
Today was the day that we finally submitted the videos of our wonderful Year 3/4 gymnasts competing in the Cumbria Games Key Steps Gymnastics Festival - after weeks of practice and several delays! We are so proud of you - you have worked very hard and performed brilliantly.
How lovely that the sun came out for our latest Forest School session in Bloomfield Woods with Helen and Hayley of Branch Out. Today we made log dogs and necklaces, we played games and built dens and made our own hot chocolate - yummy!
Well done to Year 3 and 4, who have created some wonderful stamp designs for the Royal Mail design competition in their PSHE lesson, honouring their heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. Good luck to you all. They are amazing!
What a lovely summer's evening (at last!) for our Reception and Key Stage 1 rounders club. We worked hard on our throwing, catching and striking skills and some of us managed to score rounders!
We’ve had a fabulous time together down at Bloomfield Woods this morning with Helen and Hayley. We played one of our favourite games, Eagle Eyes and played a version of Wink Murder as poison dart frogs! We snacked on popcorn, cooked on the fire bucket and enjoyed building dens, lying in hammocks, creating crazy faces on the trees with mud, leaves and grass and learned how to make hammered leaf and flower prints. We can’t wait for our next visit!
We are so happy to have been able to take part in the first inter-school competition this year - The Key Step Gymnastics. We have been learning and practicing our gymnastics routine to enter into the competition. Here we are ready to film our routines to send in to be judged - wish us luck!
We are having such a great time at Bloomfield Woods with Helen and Hayley of Branch Out - we have made nests and clay eggs to put in them, we've created tree spirit faces and fabric prints inspired by the plants and trees around us. We also had great fun on our blindfold trail and making popcorn on the campfire. It is so much fun in the woods and so peaceful too - we can't wait for our next visit!
