Yesterday, we took part in the Eden area Tri-Golf final held at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. We competed in a number of different games and really improved our skills as the day went on. We needed to be accurate, fast and have excellent team skills. When we got back to school, we found out that we had won the competition and now we will be representing the Eden area at the Cumbria School Games in July. We can't wait!!

Last week at After School Club, we made marmalade with Mr Holme. We will be entering it in to the World’s Original Marmalade Awards which are being held in March at Dalemain. Last time, we won a Silver medal - this year we are going for Gold!!

We had a wonderful time at the Year 3/4 Kwik Cricket Festival at Kirkby Stephen. We played really well and showed some excellent batting and fielding skills. We also worked really well together as a team.

Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year at Skelton School. We were delighted to welcome staff from Tullie House in Carlisle to host a special assembly. We learnt all about the different creatures that each year is named after and we loved seeing the Chinese dragon.

We have lots of exciting activities planned for this term at our After School club - tonight it was karate!

When you're lucky enough to have a Michelin award-winning chef on your doorstep, it would be a shame not to use his talents! Thank you so much to Ben Queen-Fryer of the Dog and Gun in Skelton for visiting our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children today to make bread with them - it was delicious!

We are really enjoying our 'China' project in the Year 5/6 class. Today, we have been learning how to write our names in Chinese and we are looking forward to constructing our Chinese dragons later this term.
