The Spring term topic for the Year 1 and 2 children is 'Hot and Cold' - their termly visit featured hot and cold food and to try this out, we headed for Indiagate in Penrith and Abbott Lodge Ice Cream Farm in Clifton. Mr Sofian at Indiagate taught us all about the spices used in Indian cooking and treated us to an amazing Indian banquet which was FANTASTIC! Afterwards, at Abbott Lodge, Mrs Bland taught us all about how ice cream was made, then of course we all had an ice cream of our choice - what a huge amount of amazing flavours there were. We also stopped off at Penrith Library where Mrs Doughty read us stories about different foods - we also had a look at the amazing range of reading books that we can borrow from the library and can't wait to go back with our mums and dads to choose some books to read at home!
Friends of Skelton School held a special Burn's Night Ceilidh - many of the children, parents and wider families attended and all had a wonderful time!
The Nursery and Reception children love WELLY WEDNESDAY! Every Wednesday, the children dress in their outdoor clothes including, of course, their wellies, and have a great time taking part in outdoor activities. They all had great fun on a very snowy Wednesday in January and enjoyed making snow angels and buidling snowmen!
