Today, the Year 3 and 4 class were very excited to welcome Mrs Newsham to Skelton School. Mrs Newsham is an expert on Lady Anne Clifford who we are studying as part of our ‘Castles’ topic. She also talked to us about some of the castles that Lady Anne owned and she said that she was very impressed with how much we knew already! We hope you like this picture of us with Mrs Newsham - can you see that we are wearing our Lady Anne Clifford masks!!
We have now completed our Castles and Dragons topic in the Year 3/4 class. Our art work has focused on designing, sculpting and painting our magnificent clay dragon eyes. Aren’t they fantastic!
Most people will agree that 2020 has been a difficult year so we wanted to do what we could to spread a little Christmas cheer around the village. We have been busy making lovely Christmas cards and our school councillors have been out around Skelton this afternoon delivering them. If you got one, we hope you like it! Happy Christmas everyone 🎄🎄☃️☃️
This week, we have had a wonderful time with Helen and Hayley of Branch Out Education. Each of the classes have had a Forest School session with them, jam-packed with Christmas activities. We have toasted marshmallows on a campfire, done a treasure hunt, made Christmas decorations and created wonderful pictures with twigs and wood. Thank you Helen and Hayley - we loved it!! 🎄🎄
In the Year 1/2 class we have been baking Christmas cakes. We made some extra as a special thank you present for Mrs Bloomfield who does so much to help our school. Today, we delivered them to her and sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas. We even built a snowman for her too!
