We are thrilled to have taken delivery of four brand new balance bikes, courtesy of the Eden Valley Sports Partnership. Our Reception and Year 1 children are really enjoying having lessons with Lucy from the Sports Partnership and we are also having lots of fun whizzing round on them at After School Club too.
The Year 3 and 4 children have been studying 'Rainforests' this term. They have all produced a project which they then presented to the rest of the class. All of the presentations were fascinating and the whole class learnt such a lot from each other. Rachel's presentation was about parrots which was great because Rachel's Aunty Nora has 47 parrots and, luckily for us, she was able to bring some of them in to school to show us all.
Skelton School Sports Day was held on the hottest day of the year so far - it was lovely to see so many mums, dads, grandparents and friends joining us for a fun afternoon of traditional races. We ended the afternoon with a lovely party tea on the field.
We love taking part in Stainton Sports every year. We take children from all age groups for a lovely afternoon of traditional races. We all tried our best and had a great time!
Finley has lots of hens at his house and now, lots of chickens have hatched. Finley's dad, Keith, brought the chickens in to school to show the class.
Every June, the Year 3/4 class enjoy a residential visit to St John's-in-the-Vale. We always have a wonderful time amidst the most amazing scenery in a tranquil corner of the Lake District. This year, the weather was not always on our side, but we had a fantastic time, full of walking, playing, orienteering, nature activities and, of course, chocolate cake!
A team of children from Year 5/6 took part in the annual Kwik Cricket Festival. We didn't quite make the final, but put in a great performance with some amazing bowling, batting and fielding. Well done!
